Hearts Red-and-White Valentine's I-Love-You Handmade Baby Quilt

Sweet Valentine Queen Sized Quilt
Measuring 84''X 67'', this quilt was created with Moda's 2009 Bliss fabric collection designed by Bonnie and Camille. It is one of my favorites- I love the coordinating pinks, blues, greens, reds, whites, and browns in flowers, checks, polka dots, berries, paisley, medallions, and other sweet prints. It reminds me of a valentine! It has been featured on Etsy's front page several times... I wanted to showcase these beautiful prints. I chose an accenting Riley Blake brown itty bitty polka dot fabric to continuously frame the blocks. The quilt is bordered and backed by the pink berry fabric. The batting is 100% cotton, Warm & Natural- ideal for a Spring or Summer weight quilt. It was machine quilted in feathers, flowers, and even a bird (if you can find it....hint- it's in the top row!). My college friend Jenny quilted this- she has an amazing talent for quilting based on inspirations from the fabric.

LOVE AND KISSES -This Kaffe Fassett Inspired quilt is guaranteed to put a smile on the face of anyone who loves pink and red, and would make a wonderful gift for any special little girl in your world. The center portion of this quilt is made up of many red, deep pink, purple, fuschia, and magenta fabrics in circle shape around fabrics in lighter pinks, whites, baby blue, and teal fabrics. The border is just the opposite, with the outer circles made up of the lighter fabrics,and the deeper red and pink tones in the middle. This is a great bright quilt. It measures 49" x 56 1/2". The colors remind me of chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries. They include red, dark pink, light pink, brown, green and white. The valentine patterns include hearts, more hearts, and a few more hearts. There are also pretty flowers, swirls, polka dots and words of "love". The backing is white background with pale pink flowers and bits of light green. The binding matches the backing. I have quilted this in an "X" pattern through all the squares.

LOVE LETTERS Patchwork Throw Quilt - 58" x 69" This handmade patchwork quilt measures 58 inches wide x 69 inches long This quilt was created using a traditional patchwork design of squares. The fabrics used were red and white novelty Valentine-themed prints from Clothworks. The prints feature typewriter letters and "love letters" in typewriters. The batting is a medium weight polyester. This is perfect for retaining warmth. The back is a cream marble and the binding is black. The quilting is a very simple “stitch-in-the-ditch” design that forms squares and was done by machine with cream thread. This throw quilt measures 58” x 69”. It would also be perfect as a coverlet on a daybed or a twin bed.

Cuddly Quilts by Design has used the Always and Forever Jelly Roll and Fabric to create this absolutely gorgeous Custom Love Quilt, approximately 95" x 107" in size. 12 Days of Redwork, Hearts in Silk
This quilt is done entirely by hand using the Redwork technique on silk. Redwork is a type of hand embroidery. Both red and white silks were purchased on a trip to the silk road in China. All 12 hearts are unique in nature with a different floral within. Each heart is bordered by a flying geese pattern that creates a star on every other corner. The flying geese border uses a mix of silk and red and white cotton toile patterns. The final border is scalloped to follow along with the delicate floral nature of the quilt. The quilt measures 95 cm (37.5") across and 118 cm (46.5") long. There is a sleeve on the back for hanging. It will make a special gift or be a treasure for a collector. The quilt was made in a smoke free, pet free environment.

This quilt top is a version of my pattern "Wallpaper Strips Heart" which is for sale right here in my Etsy store! I wanted to experiment with the heart made of light fabric(s) and the surround made of the darks. This was made from precut strips of Tula Pink's newest line "Eden" and one of the Kaffe Fassett Collective's newest strip collection. The dotted fabric making the heart is from Tula Pink's line Elizabeth. The border is an older Kaffe Fassett fabric which I believe is called Bekah??

Heart with a Twist Wall Hanging
The Heart with a Twist wall hanging was most definitely a labor of love! I spent numerous hours creating this quilt and when I finally completed it, I decided it was worth it. For those of you who may think the price is ridiculously high, let me just summarize how the quilt was put together. I sewed 360 2 1/2" squares together to make the center of the quilt. Then I cut all of the them apart using a special pinwheel ruler (which creates the twist) and a rotary cutter. Then I sewed it together again and voila!! That's just the center of the quilt. Then I added a pink border and then a purple border. I decided to hand appliqué 16 hearts on the outer border. Finally, I machine quilted the entire quilt and added a sleeve to the back so that it can be hung on a dowel. I'm such an overacheiver!! 30
