Valentine's is my favorite holiday-the one that celebrates love. And I do just that. I send cards to my mom, and my Aunt, and my nieces and nephews. My husband, my friends, my co-workers...there is not a single person who doesn't like to know that they are loved and remembered.. And this amazing pillow says it all. It is one of a kind, hand crafted from my collection of vintage textiles. The front is a 1950s vintage handkerchief that is hand stitched onto a fabulous vintage cotton from the 50s, just bursting with roses! The sheer cotton of the hankie allows the roses to peek through, creating a muted "ghosted" effect. In the corner of the hankie is a single heart, of a flocked fabric, with a tiny bow,with edges that are finished with a delicate red scalloping. Simple, sweet, perfect.

As whimsical as those little valentines you exchanged in 3rd grade, are these valentine handkerchiefs. And this one is a 1950s vintage that has been lovingly hand stitched onto a pillow of vintage 1940s feedsack cotton to create this fabulous little token of love. Each corner has a heart caught by Cupid's arrow, and the border is filled with scallops and roses, all surrounding the center field of tiny little hearts.The cotton of the hankie is very sheer, so that the geometric pattern on the underlying cotton peeks through in a "ghosted" effect.(sigh....)It really does get a capital "C" for charm! It is trimmed in red cotton fringe, and the back of the pillow is a luscious red raw silk. It measures 16" square. A down like pillow form is hand sewn into the pillow to allow for completely clean edges so that you may use either side in your decor. Also adds to its hug-ability factor!

The hearts are made from wonderful, vintage French and Euro linens that date back to the early 1900's and are hand loomed. The other heart is made from a vintage quilt piece.
